Community Outreach

Bongo Boy Recreational Music Center believes in the healing power of the drum and other forms of recreational music.  We work with organizations to promote individual/family wellness and fun through rhythm, music and laughter.


UPCOMING EVENTS

Arthur Hull’s Rhythmic Alchemy Playshop for music teachers, specialists, therapists and drum circle facilitators 18-20.  For more information and registration contact Village Music Circles at www.drumcircle.com.

Weekly Free Community Drum Circle:  We love to give back to our community and the perfect way to do it is through our Thursday night Free Community Drum Circle.  Families and individuals of all ages can come and move and groove on drums and percussion. Rain or shine, the circle starts at 6:45 pm. and ends at 8:00 pm.


PAST EVENTS

Team Luke: Ed had a blast providing a drum circle for all the people, especially the kids who walked/ran in the Geist ½ Marathon with Team Luke.

Vines for Life: OnFriday, Sept 30, 7-10pm. Bongo Boy Music provided entertainment for the 2nd annual Vines for Life Wine Tasting Fundraiser. The Charities represented were Creating Hope, Indy SurviveOars and Team Luke.  Luke is a student at Bongo Boy who is a cancer survivor. For more information check the web at www.vinesforlife.com

Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk: Bongo Boy donated a free Community Drum Circle for participants and volunteers at the Suicide Prevention Walk in September.

DCI Parade:  In August, Bongo Boy joined up with Music For All and had a blast at the First Annual Indy Arts Parade in downtown Indianapolis.  The mission of the event was to help spread excitement about Recreational Music making…and it was a great success! 

School Fundraisers:  Over the last three years Bongo Boy has donated lessons and drum circles to several schools in the Indianapolis area to help fund PTO events.

Revolution: Bongo Boy piloted a teen program using recreational music and rhythm as a component at Options Charter High School in Carmel, IN.

Stanley K Lacey Leadership Series:  We had a blast facilitating a Drum Circle for the participants in the Stanley K Lacey Leadership Series introducing up and coming leaders to the benefits of recreational music making for all
